Indoor Bowls Xmas 2023

Indoor Bowls – Xmas Buffet Lunch

Today around 50 members and guests met at St Joseph’s Parish Centre for the last indoor bowling session before Christmas. Today was a bit different as following the team selections, Ken Simmons did a wonderful job in organising a knockout competition. Following the first two rounds we all enjoyed a lovely buffet lunch supplied by The “Cafe on The Square” after which we held a raffle of prizes kindly donated by members. After this the knockout final was held, the team of Phil Charnley, Kath Marlow, Gary Chew, and Anne Carson being victorious and then receiving medals for their efforts. A brilliant day, with over 150 being raised on the raffle, another 15 on a football card, and a big thank you goes to Jayne at St Joseph’s for running the bar and helping us with the running of the highly popular and enjoyable indoor bowls sessions. Looking forward to seeing you all again when we start again on Thursday 4th January 2024.

New Chairperson

Tina Botterill has been voted in at the AGM  to take over the position of Chairperson from Stephen Naylor who has done a wonderful job over the last few years.

I am certain all our members will give Tina their full backing and help her in her new role of heading our club.
